Diagnostics
Diagnostics are tests to assess how your pet’s body is working and to keep them healthy. It starts with a thorough physical examination using our ears and hands and may include other diagnostic tools like laboratory equipment or ultrasound. Our diagnostic tools help us to detect diseases in the early stages so that we can proactively manage them, helping your pet to live a comfortable life.
Digital X-Rays (Radiographs)
Digital X-rays, or radiographs, are a noninvasive procedure that provides high-quality images, helping our veterinarians see internal structures in your pet. They are used to diagnose bone fractures, organ abnormalities, and arthritis. Because we have digital x-rays, we can show you and share the images with referral clinics almost immediately.
In-house Laboratory
We know how valuable it is to have results quickly for your pet when they aren’t feeling their best. At Central Animal Hospital our in-house laboratory equipment is cutting edge and allows for rapid testing of various samples. We can run complete blood panels, urine samples, intestinal parasite screenings, and cytology of ears and skin.
Electrocardiogram (EKG)
Electrocardiograms, or EKG, is a non-invasive diagnostic that is used to show us how the heart is functioning and if there are any irregularities with the heart rhythm. This allows us to have early intervention for any underlying heart condition. All our patients who undergo anesthesia at Central Animal Hospital always have a prescreening electrocardiogram the day of their surgery.
